Beijing 2008's Mascots

               ในที่สุด มหกรรมกีฬาอันยิ่งใหญ่และเก่าแก่ที่สุดแห่งมวลมนุษยชาติหรือโอลิมปิกเกมส์ก็ได้ฤกษ์เปิดฉากขึ้นแล้วเมื่อคืนวานนี้ ( ซึ่งตรงกับวันที่ 8 เดือน 8 ปี 2008 ) ที่สนามกีฬา"รังนก" ( Bird's Nest ) ในกรุงปักกิ่ง ประเทศจีน

                เท่าที่ผมนั่งดูการถ่ายทอดสดการแสดงหลายๆ ชุด ในช่วงพิธ๊เปิดอยู่ 4 ชั่วโมงกว่าๆ เมื่อค่ำคืนที่ผ่านมา  ก็รู้สึกว่าทางเจ้าภาพจีนนั้นจัดงานได้อย่างยิ่งใหญ่อลังการสมกับการรอคอยของผู้ชมทางบ้านจากทั่วโลก  การแสดงต่างๆ ในภาพรวมสื่อให้เห็นถึงประวัติศาสตร์-วัฒนธรรมจีนที่ผสมผสานกับเทคนิค แสง-สี-เสียง ได้อย่างกลมกลืนน่าประทับใจ

                โดยเฉพาะการแสดงตีกลองชุดนี้ที่ผมชอบมาก  โดยเหล่าผู้แสดงจำนวน 2008 คนที่แสดงได้อย่างพร้อมเพรียงซึ่งเวลาตีกลองแล้วจะมีแสงวูบวาบขึ้นมา เพื่อเป็นการนับเวลาถอยหลังเข้าสู่การเปิดฉาก Beijing Olympic Games 2008 อย่างเป็นทางการในเวลา 2 ทุ่มตามเวลาที่จีน ( 8.00 PM, 08/08/2008 )

The last torchbearer

                 ไฮไลต์ที่ทุกคนเฝ้ารอในช่วงพิธีเปิดก็คงเป็นช่วงการจุดคบเพลิงซึ่งผู้จุดคบเพลิงคนสุดท้ายของจีนได้ใช้วิชาลอยตัวเหิรเวหาไปจุดชนวนคบเพลิง จนในที่สุด--ไฟโอลิมปิกก็ลุกโชติช่วงขึ้นบนกระถางคบเพลิงในสนาม เป็นอันจบพิธีเปิดได้อย่างสมบูรณ์แบบ

                  การแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิกส์คราวนี้เป็นครั้งที่ 29 แล้ว จะมีการชิงชัยในกีฬาประเภทต่างๆ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 8-24 สิงหาคมนี้  ใครที่เป็นพวกชอบดูกีฬาอย่างผมคงจะมีความสุขที่จะได้ดูกีฬานานาชนิดกันเต็มอิ่มตลอดเดือนนี้  ในฐานะที่เป็นคนไทยคนหนึ่งก็ขอส่งแรงใจช่วยเชียร์นักกีฬาไทยให้ทำหน้าที่ให้ดีที่สุดในการแข่งขัน โดยเฉพาะกีฬาที่เป็นความหวังอย่าง ยกน้ำหนักหญิง, มวย และ เทควันโด

              On the last Saturday evening of 19 April 2008, I'm a one Thai among the cheerful crowds who are waiting to see "Beijing 2008 Olympic torch relay" at the final pitstop. There are a group of Chinese, mostly students studying in Thailand, waiting here as well. You can hear some Mandarin sound from them. It just took a time not over 15 minutes for driving from my home to this Bangkok's area. So I took photos around a reception area and recorded the moment of Olympic torch relay, with my digital camera, to show you guys here.

                Let me explain brief details from this vdo clip : a Thai famous singer, "Jetrin Wattanasin", passed the Olympic flame to the last torchbearer, "Pawina Thongsuk", the Thai female gold-medalist from weightlifting in Athens 2004. These 2 person are among 80 Thai delegates from all walks of life who ran along 10.4 km torch relay's route in Bangkok.

             It's such the first time that Olympic torch relay's routes passing on Thailand's soil. And surprising or not!!, the global Olympic torch relay in this leg completed smoothly without any big hassles like in some western countries from previous legs. The overall atmosphere here was very joyful and lively. As a sports enthusiastist, whether it's Asian Games, World Cup or Olympic Games, I wish Beijing Olympics 2008 succeed in every way.
